  7. The Rimfire 5700 includes a high-performance, single-ended or differential 16-
  8. or 32-bit Micro Channel SCSI-2 adapter, SCSI driver software, utility software,
  9. installation manuals, and SCSI cable
  10.  
  11. An onboard microprocessor offloads the host CPU. A Fast SCSI-2 chip minimizes
  12. SCSI protocol overhead. Dual-ported SRAM, which holds SCSI commands and
  13. scatter/gather tables, further reduces adapter overhead. The UNIX driver
  14. provides optimal algorithms for maximizing disk throughput through read-ahead
  15. caching, and command sorting and combining. The adapter supports bus master DMA
  16. at transfer rates to 40 MB per second. Multithreading and multitasking allow
  17. simultaneous processing of multiple requests. Both initiator and target modes
  18. are supported. The adapter provides SCSI data transfers up to 10 MB per second
  19. and supports SCSI disconnect and reselect.
